What are some of your self-care routines?
Are they getting monthly massages, facials, mani & pedis, shopping?
While those are super great and make me look and feel good, my dearest self-care routine is spending time with my friends.
And that’s exactly what I did yesterday.
My friends and I decided to do Sunday Dinner where we cook and hang out, kid inclusive.
Needless to say my heart is full ❤️
The spread was wholesome and delicious. It included seasoned rice, mac and cheese, coleslaw, corn, salmon and barbecue chicken.
I’ll talk about Cooking with Keva in another post. 😉
We ate goodT!
Besides the food, the fellowship is what makes the experience amazing.
I’ve been friends with Thandi, Mellisha and Tehvin between 13 and 25 years. We have been through everything. As we navigate out late 20s we’re constantly having those “ayo, we really the adults now” moments. It’s funny because we don’t even feel old.
This had been quite the year for me and for the most part my friends were my saving grace. What may seem like a simple get together was truly self care for me. The jokes, the laughter, bonding with the kids, spending quality time and sharing positive energy means the world to me.
Sometimes we take life and ourselves too seriously and forget to stop and smell the roses.
This reunion was the refresher we all needed.
It was all love.
