A Shower for Baby

Updated: May 25, 2023

Nearly two weeks ago I celebrated the forthcoming birth of my first baby, a boy. I had two showers, one that my sorority sisters surprised me with following a chapter meeting (I’ll call it a sprinkle) and the main one my family, friends, and loved ones organized.

I was and still am overwhelmed with joy by all the love and support I’ve been getting as I transition into this new phase of my life. I am so grateful.

To everyone that sent gifts, offered well-wishes, and attended, one or both showers, from the bottom of my heart, thank you so much. Motherhood is something I’ve always wanted for myself and now that is here, I’m truly happy and appreciative of these blessings.

To my sorors, the sprinkle was quite a pleasant surprise. I wasn’t sure if I’d make it to the meeting because I had travel issues leaving out of St. Thomas earlier in the day but I’m glad I got through. As nosy as I am, I didn’t suspect a thing. Thank you ladies, I love you all. 💚💖

The next day was my baby shower 🥹 It was supposed to be a surprise but they had to tell me about it because I was acting funky that my friends weren't offering to help me plan one. It still kinda was a surprise because they only told me the date and time. I didn’t know who was invited or really what to expect.

Surprise or surprise not, my heart was fullll. I had such an amazing time celebrating with some of my closest family and friends. I was still able to be surprised because my childhood friend Caressa, flew all the way down from Georgia to see me. That, I was not expecting in any way. The day was beautiful. Both of my parents were there, my siblings, my other half, some sorors, close family, and the best friends a girl could ask for. It was perfect for me.

Honorable mention to the planning committee. I’m usually in the mix with planning function but they did very well without me lol. My heart goes out to RaShawn, Thandi, Krystal, Misha, Kiah, and Tehvin for all they put into making sure the day was special. xoxo. I love them forever & ever.

To you all who came out, bought gifts on my registry, and reached out with well-wishes––a special thank you from mom, dad, and baby.

I like to give recognition as best as I could so a thank you thank you thank you to everyone who made my weekend special and then some. Some gifts weren’t labeled so if I miss a name, please charge it to my head and not my heart, (or you can reach out to me and I'll gladly update this post 😉)
